Transplantation
The day of your transplant is a very important day. You will receive the stem cells that were taken either from you or a donor through an IV. If the transplant goes well, stem cells from the new marrow will begin producing life-sustaining blood cells. For a bone marrow transplant this can take two to four weeks. In a stem cell transplant, the stem cells usually begin reproducing within two weeks.
